London Marathon 2007
12 members of our club successfully completed the gruelling 26.2 miles of the London Marathon yesterday. This was no easy task with temperatures in excess of over 22C!
The results are below but a big congratulations is in order for Norma Smith who came 3rd in her age category and Mick Nester who came 6th in his age category. Who said we don’t have fast runners in our club????
Also Sheila Marshall broke four hours for the first time in her fourth marathon. An outstanding achievement especially as she was running for the British Heart Foundation in memory of Philip Jeffries.
Our runners have also raised money for Cancer Research, Kids with Leukaemia and The premature Baby Unit. Amounts raised still need confirming and will be highlighted in the next newsletter.
Thank you to all who contributed.
