Interested in Joining Blackburn Road Runners?

Are you interested in joining our club? Thats great! – We’d love to have you come and run with us.

How to Join?

Download our Club Application form, complete and email it back to Linda or Sue on blackburnroadrunners@gmail.com

Email Us and we will give you further details or just come down on a Wednesday evening at Witton Park Car Park and try us out for a few weeks before you need to join.  We have different paced groups and as long as you can run at least 3 miles at any pace you’ll be fine joining us!

We understand it can be very daunting for some to take the initial plunge to join us so please contact us first if you wish to find out more!

It’s ideal if you are training for an event such as the Great North Run or London Marathon as we can provide all sorts of training advice.   If you just want to keep fit with other like minded people and get out on a Wednesday night..again we fit the bill!

We also have other social events so feel free to check out our calendar!

    Hi

My wife and I are thinking of joining youir club. Do you have set training programmes e.g intervals hill work or is it just general running.

    Thanks

    Hi Andrew,

We have speed sessions once a month and weekend runs are usually arranged in between Wednesday evening runs.
Winter is mainly road running and summer off road. Check out the calendar for the dates of speed sessions at the track.

If you require further information on joining please post an enquiry with your email address and I’ll send you the relevant information.

    Many Thanks

You will be fine. Come down to Witton Park on a Wednesday evening at 6.50 p.m.
Meet on the main car park.
Not this week though we are doing a Run and Eat from The Swan at Whalley. You are still welcome if you want to come and run.

My Mum and I are interested in joining. We are beginners and are wanting to train to do a 5k run. The club sounds ideal but at the same time sounds advanced? Will we be okay to come on Wednesday?

      Hi Ashley,

Sure no problem, you’re most welcome…
Just turn up and ask for Norma (The Chairman) and tell her you’d like to join 🙂
Don’t worry about times, we have runners of all ages and standards (beginners too!)

HI. I have just started running (via the couch to 5k programme) and have completed my first 5km ‘race’ in a time of 33 minutes. This included a couple of short walks. I notice in earlier replies, you state that people looking to join should be able to run for 3 miles (and are over 18 – which I am) – I can run 3 miles at a slow pace (11 minute mile or so) but only if it’s flat – I struggle more with hills. Should I look to improve more before I come to a session and maybe join you? Thanks

Hello, I will be moving to Blackburn in a few months but only for 3 months as I will be on a placement there. I was wondering if it is possible to have a temporary membership? I would really like to join a running club whilst I am there as I won’t know any routes/any people!
    Thanks
