Well done to everyone who ran on Sunday, we had a few fallers including myself but it was on grass so nothing hurts apart from my pride, hope everyone else is okay.
Leg 2 is a fantastic run with wonderful scenery, ranging from meadows, moors, a tree line route and climbs up to 1467ft.
The weather was great for spectators, I found it a bit too hot for running and it didn,t help when we were expecting a water station but whoever was manning it had to pack up and go because he was running the 5th leg, teach me to run a bit faster next time!!
A big thank you to my partner Lesley who was very patient with me, she could have run it a lot quicker but that is what team sports are about.
Also a BIG THANK YOU to Brenda (our captain) who met us at the Turkey Inn and ran with me up that enormous hill, I was really struggling and she encouraged me every step of the way.
Also thank you to Jean who met us on the way with water, and supplies. The cameradery was excellent, we ran behind a couple of girls from Baildon who even passed us their Lucozade drink, thanks girls.
Will I do it again next year? On the way round I would have said Never again thinking about it maybe yes!!

Unfortunately the girls on leg 3 must admit defeat to the men! Darrell and Pete powered through in 1:23, 20 minutes less than ourselves, narrowly missing Mick and Ray’s leg record in 2003 (1:22:29) Sheila (with her post mongolian fitness) could have taken them on but a trapped nerve hindered my performance throughout the run..stopping at lest 6 times to remove my trainer!! not conducive to fast running!!
Reiterating Linda’s comment it’s a team event so thanks for bearing with me, Sheila. Amazingly there were 2 teams who came in behind..just, due to deviating from the route on the final half mile, how lucky was that!
Nice T-Shirt this year and the feeling of never wanting to run again seemed to fade after the food at The Traders

Leg five, the views were worth the climbing we did on this leg. Neil and Paul ran with myself and Julie for the first 4 miles and we encouraged each other on, then Julie and myself went off.
It was Julies first Bradford and she ran really well, looking good all the way. The time we did was 1:51. The men came in swiftly behind us in just over two hours. Well done guys.
Great to see Brenda at the end of the leg.
After a swift drink of orange and something to snack on it was a quick home washed and dressed for the well deserved meal in the pub with everyone.
Well done everyone a good team effort.
